Reported BJP Proposal

According to media reports, the BJP government is considering financial support measures for women through direct cash transfers and expanded welfare schemes. Reports have also claimed that women could receive ₹20,000 as immediate assistance, while an additional ₹30,000 may be provided in three instalments of ₹10,000 each if the government returns to power.

No Official Announcement Yet

However, no official announcement has been made regarding the structure, eligibility criteria, or implementation of such a scheme.

Akhilesh Yadav’s Reaction

Reacting strongly to these reports, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav termed the proposal “another jumla” and accused the BJP of using financial promises to attract voters before elections.

Attack on BJP

In a post on X, he alleged that the ruling party now has “nothing left except money” to win elections and questioned why similar assistance had not been provided during the last decade.

What Akhilesh Says Women Need

Akhilesh argued that women need long-term economic security, employment opportunities, better education, healthcare, and social support rather than temporary election-time announcements.

Demand for Clarification

He also questioned whether the proposal had received official approval and demanded clarity from the government.

Criticism of Government Record

The SP chief further claimed that if the BJP was serious about helping women, it could have implemented such measures during its previous years in power. He alleged that women had been deprived of benefits they deserved and accused the government of focusing more on publicity than welfare.

SP’s Promise

At the same time, Akhilesh Yadav reiterated the Samajwadi Party’s own promise for women. He said that if the SP forms the government in 2027, it would provide ₹40,000 annually to women, with the amount increasing every year.

Long-Term Support Model

He presented this as a long-term support model rather than a one-time election promise.

Political Significance

The issue has quickly emerged as a major political battleground ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections, with both the BJP and the Samajwadi Party attempting to strengthen their appeal among women voters, who are expected to play a decisive role in the electoral outcome.

Current Status

As of now, the Uttar Pradesh government has not issued any final official notification regarding the reported ₹20,000 assistance, the additional ₹30,000 instalment plan, or the eligibility criteria for beneficiaries.

Disclaimer: This report is based on public statements and media reports. Claims regarding ₹20,000 assistance and an additional ₹30,000 in three instalments of ₹10,000 each have not been officially notified by the Uttar Pradesh government and should be treated as proposals under discussion until confirmed through an official announcement.
